A. Attentive Care will customize a care plan to meet your need whether it requires one hour per week or eighty hours per week at different intervals and/or different times.
Q. How do I ensure the Care Companion will be compatible with me or my loved one?
A. The chemistry and comfort between the Care Companion and our client is a top priority. During the Care Assessment process, we will determine what characteristics and experience (Companion Profile) you seek in a Companion. Armed with that knowledge, we will match you with a Companion that meets your Profile.
Q. How are family members, assigned medical professionals or other related professionals keep abreast of my loved one's status during Care hours?
A. Companions are required to complete a Client Status Update during each and every Care visit. All parties involved may receive a copy of the Updates after each and every visit (given proper release of information authorization) Otherwise, an up-to-date history is available upon request. In the event of a significant change requiring immediate attention, all interested parties would be immediately contacted.
Q. Will Attentive Care provide care for a thirty-three year old who was recently dismissed from the hospital following an automobile accident?
A. Attentive Care Companions provide non-medical homemaking and personal care for all ages.
Q. Are Care Companion services covered by Medicare or Medicaid?
A. We participate with the Michigan Medicade Waiver Program and are a preferred supplier through The Area Agency on Aging, HHS Health Options and Senior Resources. We encourage you to call us to determine how you may qualify.
Q. What happens in case of an emergency?
A. Care Companions are specifically trained to handle emergency situations. As part of the Care Assessment process, we will review with you the steps that will be taken in case of an emergency, which may include CPR and contacting emergency medical help.
Q. Can I increase or decrease the amount of Care time after Care is started?
A. Yes, we can modify your Care Plan within two weeks after receiving your request.
Q. How do I provide you feedback on the quality of care?
A. As part of the Care Plan, you will receive a series of Care Satisfaction Surveys, which we request you complete and submit on a quarterly basis. We will take whatever proactive steps necessary based upon your confidential feedback.
Q. What if the type of care needed is not listed in the information you publish?
A. The types of services we can provide are too numerous to list; therefore, we recommend you call us to determine if we can provide the needed care.
Q. What if I want to change Care Companions?
A. Upon receiving your request, we will immediately update your Companion Profile and find a replacement Companion as soon as possible. Your comfort and satisfaction are critically important to us.
